I'm 31 years old, born, raised and educated in Sweden, but I currently
live and work in Zürich, Switzerland. I have a master's degree in computer
science and engineering and I work as a software designer. I have many
interests and hobbies, and some of them are:
- Music:
Pink Floyd, Marillion, Supertramp, Toto, Vangelis and many others. I also
enjoy some classical music (mainly Rachmaninov) and a bit of blues.
- Computers:
Programming (mostly Win32 these days, but it was more fun on the Amiga... I think) and
playing computer games (most of all Quake and its derivatives, but other favourites are
International Karate, Delta, Moria, Red Baron and the Incofom adventures).
- Movies:
My favourite directors are James Cameron, Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg and
John McTiernan. Some other favourite movies (apart from theirs) are: Braveheart,
Highlander, The Hot Spot, Pulp Fiction and The Commitments.
- Comedy Series:
My favourites are "The Black Adder", "Fawlty Towers", "The Young Ones" and
"Bottom".
- Books:
My favourite authors are Roger Zelazny, H.P. Lovecraft, Sharon Kay Penman, Tom Clancy,
Frederick Forsyth, Ken Follett and Douglas Adams.
- History:
Most of all World War II, but I'm also fascinated by old castles and fortresses
and their history.
- Cars:
My first love was the Honda CRX. I drove CRX's for over
11 years, but now I've switched to a used BMW 328. Looks
nice but it drives like a pig, so I had to rebuild it a bit. With the Schnitzer sports
suspension it handles almost as nicely as the CRX... But ok, it's faster, so I'm
pretty happy anyway =]
- Racing:
I became interested in Formula 1 back in 1987 since McLaren - Honda was doing
so well then. I've kept that interest ever since, although Formula 1 isn't
what it used to be when Ayrton Senna was alive :-(. Lately I've also become
interested in Cart racing. Currently my fave drivers are Häkkinen and Montoya
(McLaren and ex-Honda =]).
- Whisky:
Mainly single malts (see my malt ratings).
